What is The NOISE INDEX?
The internet provides access to vast quantities of information about the world, with social media websites allowing us to share ideas on a global scale. Does this access to information lead to an increase in understanding, or does synthesizing vast quantities of information simply yield noise?
Moreover, this leads to the question, if omniscience is to know all things at once, then would the experience of omniscience simply be that of noise?
The NOISE INDEX is a research platform initiated in 2013 by Owen Vallis, Jordan Hochenbaum, Jasmin Blasco & Raphael Arar, exploring questions emerging from increased access to information, and the consequences of information saturation.
